Top 5 Books
I love to read. A lot. I just think that when you find a book you love, it's like magic! So many different emotions, experiences and stories can be captured inside the pages of a good book, and I wanted to share some of my favourites with you guys.
1. The Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
I started reading Harry Potter when I was 7 years old. I saw the books on the shelves in my Mum's office and I thought the train on the cover of the Philosopher's Stone looked like the coolest thing ever. I immediately asked if I could read them. I remember not owning the Deathly Hallows yet, as it had only come out 2 years before I started reading the series. Mum surprised me with the book one night and I was so excited. I've read the series 38 times and counting, and I don't have any plans to stop! They're truly magical books.
2. Starters - Lissa Price
It's a tradition within my family to buy a book at the airport to read on our trip and during the plane ride there. About 4 years ago on our trip to Fiji, my step-sister bought Starters by Lissa Price. She loved reading it, she said it was a great book and after I finished reading mine, we swapped. I couldn't put the book down for the remainder of our trip. It was absolutely engrossing and whenever people ask me for book recommendations, I recommend this book. Please take the time to read it!
3. Tiger Lily - Jodi Lynn Anderson
I got this book as a present from my Grandparents on my birthday. I read the first few chapters and I wasn't too interested, but after a few years, I picked it up again and loved it. It's a take on a Peter Pan prequel, but from Tinkerbell's point of view. She follows Tiger Lily around and observes her and Peter Pan's encounters with each other. It's a wonderful story and definitely not for anyone who wants a happily ever after ending.
4. All The Bright Places - Jennifer Niven
I feel like this book is an extremely predictable pick for a teenagers favourite books list, but for a good reason. I tend to enjoy stories which end in the way that you didn't want it to, and this book definitely delivers. I really loved reading this and became quite smitten with the main character Finch for a few days after finishing it. Denouncing the teen fiction stereotype, I lent my copy of the book to Mum and she also enjoyed the story!
5. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
Seriously, if you haven't read The Hunger Games, what are you doing with your life? It's an incredible book that I've been able to read over and over again without getting bored. It's so exciting! I never want to put this book down when I read it and I understand why it became so popular. It's just a great read and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it, or I recommend you read it again if you already have.
I hope you guys liked hearing about the books I'm a fan of! Talk to you soon :)
